East Tennessee Pilgrimage
Foothills Paddling Club travels outside the Carolinas for one weekend a year, and we call it our annual East Tennessee Pilgrimage.
Over the course of the weekend, there will be opportunities for whitewater rafting, whitewater kayaking, Flatwater paddling, mountain biking, and hiking. The nearby rivers are:
Ocoee (class III/IV),
Hiawassee (class II),
Lake Ocoee
You may find or organize a trip on one of these runs by attending our morning meetups hosted at the FPC group site. In order to attend morning meetups, all we ask is that you register for the event and give a donation of any amount. This donation will go toward the club’s expenses for the year, such as instructor scholarships and insurance.
We have reserved a group campsite at Gee Creek Campsite for the weekend of Labor Day to come together and enjoy the trails and waterways of East Tennessee and North Georgia. You can reserve your spot at the group camp during registration.
If group camping is not your thing, private campsites, including RV sites, are available at Gee Creek. Please contact them directly at https://tnstateparks.com/parks/campground/hiwassee-ocoee
We will be grilling out at the campsite on Saturday evening. Claim your plate during registration.
We hope you will join us this year for a fun-filled, family-friendly adventurous Pilgrimage!
